NOTE: When you remove the chip ensure that it is fitted to the new corresponding colour cartridge.
1. Lift the chip from the empty ink tank (see fig: 1). 2. Slide the chip on to the new cartridge making sure that the chip is the right way up (see fig: 2). 3. Remove the orange clip and install the new ink cartridge. When you next print, please follow the on-screen instructions to begin using your new cartridge. Canon printers with cartridges that use a chip have been designed to detect non-genuine Canon products. As a result, the ink level will no longer be detected. It is important that you monitor the ink level of your new cartridge to ensure that it does not run completely dry.
